In the fourth video showing the changes in Simplify3D I look at two new features that both rely on one main change – the ability for Simplify3D to attempt varying the extrusion width dynamically. The first feature, “Variable Extrusion Sizing”, permits you to attempt to print features that might otherwise just not print at all, where the ...

Again, I generated this gcode with a .6mm nozzle, but with an extrusion width of .72mm (20% over). Simplify3D. Did not do well at all. It didn’t start printing until the wall with was greater than my extrusion width, so it left out all walls under .75mm. Kind of hard to print anything architectural related at scale with this limitation. Slic3r

Slic3r Configuration File The Slic3r code written during the previous week used the default print settings to generate G-Code. These included necessary settings such as extruder diameter, filament diameter, bed size, layer height, etc. which vary according to the printer specifics. While using Slic3r via the command

Sep 26, 2015 · Slic3r give me even 0.67 default extrusion width for infill and other perimeters. For some parts 0.4 also works for me, but even not for everything. IMHO defaults should be as foolproof as possible and a thicker extrusion width for external perimeters would only hurt a bit fine details but get much more reliable results with more printers and filaments.

Aug 10, 2018 · A newer version of our Slic3r PE won’t allow it to happen. We recommend to always use the latest version of our Slic3r. Stopped extrusion mid-printing. A problem with extrusion can rarely happen mid-print without any previous warning signs. This can result in a missed layer or the extrusion can even stop completely. For users who would like to use Slic3r's features without having to process the file through Chroma, there's a user-made plugin called P2PP that creates the necessary files directly in Slic3r. For more information, please see here. Maker of the original Micro, the first consumer 3D Printer to deliver great quality 3D printing in a compact, affordable package. Now with the Micro+, Pro and Promega 3D printers, we also carry 3D printer parts and the largest assortment of filament (3D Ink) than any other manufacturer.
3. Slic3r's wipe while retracting. snapped at 11.5 kg, at the seam. Belt test impossible. 2. Slic3r with forced retract. snapped at 11.5 kg away from the seam. Belt test - very fragile. 1. Slic3r plain. snapped at 12.5 kg away from the seam. Belt test - slightly more durable than 2, but still quite fragile.
Print settings for dual extrusion 3D printers to increase print quality and prevent color mixing; prime pillars, Z lift and more. After several tries and browsing forums I found a solution in Slic3r that works significantly better than the standard approach offered by Flashprint.

I just had pointed out to me that there is a challenge in calibrating the printer with the Repetier firmware. I and others have experienced problems adjusting values in the firmware, then not seeing the effect of those adjustments in a test print.<br /><br />This can be attributed to the values in EEPROM overriding any new changes made in the firmware.<br /><br />The best approach is to turn ... The print "die8_color_noshield.g" was generated with slic3r and has been post-processed automatically with the script above to correct the way the skirt is drawn. Speeds are too high for the size of the part, and need to be turned down more. I will post an update once I get around to correcting the slic3r setup.
With KISSlicer, I have found that specifying nozzle size exactly the same as the actual nozzle size was not working well enough for me. Upping by about 10 to 20% (at least for infill) was key to improved adhesion. (This is separate from the issue of extrusion amounts, which is a factor of the filament diameter and the multiplier).
The problem is Slic3r doesn't seem to be making the raft large enough, the print comes loose from the bed. I have tried almost everything. Kapton tape, Kapton tape with glue, Painters tape, Painters tape with glue, and all 4 of those variations with a bed temperature at 95 and 105 degrees.

Extrusion Width Settings. If you can identify other areas of your prints that are also not joining lines up, your issue is likely to be to do with your extrusion width settings. These gaps tend to be of the same wifth when this is the problem.

Extrusion Width Settings. If you can identify other areas of your prints that are also not joining lines up, your issue is likely to be to do with your extrusion width settings. These gaps tend to be of the same wifth when this is the problem. If you have a Slic3r, you can use the option “Detect bridging perimeters” to set the appropriate settings for printing bridges. Extrusion and Nozzle Width. A larger extrusion width can prove helpful in the case of extreme overhangs. If you want to extrude filament wider, you should use a larger nozzle. Too low of a value for the extrusion width results in gaps in the infill. The Infill Extrusion Width value can be increased to 200% or even 300% to make it so that more material is extruded for the sparse infills.
65.314 * extrusion width mm * (clear height mm - 5mm) = transition length I found that this works great with a 20% transition but you need to have a well calibrated extruder, P2 and ability to precisely start the filament when initiating a print.
